Community Sponsorship
Friendly Welcome is a Community Sponsorship group participating in the government’s Community Sponsorship programme.
The programme exists to enable ordinary citizens to fundamentally change a family’s lives by bringing them safely to the UK, and supporting and empowering them to settle and integrate here.
Families who come under this programme are particularly vulnerable, even among fellow refugees who have fled their homes because of conflict and danger to their lives. They have been forced to leave behind not only their homes and possessions, but their family, friends, community, culture and way of life.
Every Community Sponsorship group has to operate under the umbrella of a registered charity. We are working with Sponsor Refugees, which is part of Citizens UK.
